AMAE (ah-mah-eh) comes from the Japanese concept of sweet, indulgent closeness — the trust of being held by someone who already knows what you need.
We started this brand because we wanted a bag that felt like that. Something familiar. Something you reach for without thinking. Something that doesn't ask you to keep up — it just moves with you.
We make crystal-mesh bags with interchangeable pouches, handmade in a small workshop in Italy. One bag, many moods. Swap the pouch whenever you want a change. No need to replace the whole thing.
That’s the idea. Less, but better.
THE CONCEPT
Every AMAE bag is two pieces: a crystal-mesh outer and a soft pouch that sits inside. They come together — one bag, ready to carry.
The pouch slides out. A different one slides in. Satin for an evening out, cotton for every day. Same bag, completely different feeling.
You can also carry the pouch on its own — it works as a standalone bag whenever you want something lighter.
